Dinner with the Smileys #10: Good Shephard Food Bank

The adventure began right after school.

Unfortunately, Mom forgot snacks. Not a good start. 

Especially when the first part of the dinner involved touring a warehouse full of food.

But it was a good and timely lesson: Hunger hurts. 

The Good Shepherd Food Bank can help people who struggle with hunger every day.

Dinner with the Smileys # 9: Joe Bennett

He sang God Bless America at Fenway.

He's a comedian.

He breaks out in song in the middle of class.

He is Ford's 5th grade teacher, Mr. Joe Bennett.

Look! Mr. Bennett is not wearing his signature red shoes!

After dinner, we went for a ride in the police car. No one was arrested.

Dinner With the Smileys: Maine Black Bears

Our 7th Dinner: The biggest crowd yet. 

A two-day event, starting with a Maine Hockey game one night and dinner with Coach Tim Whitehead, his son Zach, players Nick Pryor (#71) and Kyle Beattie (#21), plus Robin Smiley, the Smiley boys' grandmother.

Nick (#71) listed Ping Pong as his hobby in the team program. We took him up on it.
